The McAdams Advantage: Five Easy Steps to Successful Remodeling

Step 1—Getting to Know You and Your Project
Every client is important to us and we take the time to ensure clear communication from your first call. This leads us to ask a lot of questions to help us understand how best to serve your needs before, during, and after the remodeling.

On some simple jobs like deck repairs we will “write up” a scope and provide an Opinion of Probable Cost. For most projects, we explain the details of the next step, our Feasibility Study. Our goal is a solid, mutual understanding of project scope, budget range and design fees. This step usually involves a phone conversation and one or two meetings.

Step 2—Feasibility Study
Once you commit to the Feasibility Study we roll up our sleeves and go to work. It is time to document the details of your existing spaces by including field measure, and photographs. This analysis forms the foundation for creating plans, and with your agreement on what will be included, your investment range. The McAdams design process is totally interactive, helping you visualize floor plans and exteriors using computer renderings, in your home or on the big screen in our office. We work as a team with you to detail and specify products and finishes, taking your ideas and shaping them into a project you will be thrilled with. This step usually takes one to three meetings.

Step 3—Fixed Price Contract
When you and McAdams Builders have a clear understanding about what your project is all about and what the investment will be, we will have a fixed price agreement including all of the detail developed in the first two steps. Schedules are important to us and we will give you an approximate start date at the time we go to contract, as well as an estimate of construction time. While you are waiting, McAdams group will be working on engineering, permits, and ordering any special order materials. This step takes one meeting.

Step 4—Construction Begins
We get started right with a Preconstruction Meeting where you meet with all of the key players at your home. Following a checklist developed over 1000 projects, we discuss life during remodeling and any special considerations we need to be aware of while we work in your home. Once we start work we remain committed to it until it is done; you will be provided a copy of our schedule to be reviewed with you weekly by our production manager. We will respect your home, keep it clean and safe, and leave you with a wonderful finished project with a minimum of disruption and inconvenience.

Step 5—Warranty and Follow Up
Planning and preparation are now a distant memory, and you are enjoying your remodeled home. The McAdams Advantage does not stop there. If a door warps or a valve leaks, give us a call and we will attend to it in a timely fashion. Warranty work is not one of those things we get around to when we have time. Our Pledge to you is a worry free experience, before, during, and after construction. Your satisfaction is the most valued asset of McAdams Builders.
